The Spring/Summer 2020 season is here and everyone in the hair industry wants to know what the key trends this season will be. Electric Founder & Creative Director, Mark Woolley outlines his 3 top styles for the season.
Curly 'Lob'
The curly 'lob' is set to be a huge trend for this season after being recently debuted by Selena Gomez. The 27-year-old singer often wears her dark hair straight or in loose waves, but with this new curly, fringed style she has potentially inspired the style of the spring.
It’s all about the gorgeously effortless ‘shag’ style, showcasing a free-moving texture and shape with a defined perimeter. The texture sets the mood.
The likes of Alexa Chung and Taylor Swift are also fans of this versatile style, which will be music to the ears of those with naturally curly hair. To achieve the required volume, Electric C-5 Volume Liquid Mist, which will add volume to their hair without weighing it down.
Stone Blonde
We are currently seeing an update to the wider blonde trends from the past year. It’s a twist on the classic platinum blonde shade but gives a softer tone that still adds brightness.
This new colour trend, known as “stone blonde”, has been showcased at recent events by the likes of Dove Cameron and Jodie Comer. It is a perfect balance between warmer and ashier tones, mixing very pale strands with beige accents.
Stone blonde is not just a single colour, but it can be achieved using techniques that require less maintenance such as highlights or balayage.
To maintain this colour in-between salon visits and keep it looking nice and bright you need the right products. Electric P*-1 Colour Protect Shampoo and Electric P*-2 Conditioner is designed to stop colour fade, while boosting the condition of the hair.
'Shake Style'
For those with long hair, I predict Spring/Summer 2020 will all be about the gorgeous, effortless "shake" style. This style showcases a free-moving texture and shape with a clearly defined perimeter. The interior creates the exterior and the texture sets the mood. Freja Beha, Taylor Swift and Alexa Chung have all rocked versions of this look recently.
